If I Were Enlightened

Sometimes the only way to find what we’re looking for is to give up looking.

This recently released video is a little light-hearted autobiography about giving up and realizing that everything you’re looking for has been there all along. Donnalou Stevens, who is best known from her first video ‘Older Ladies’ that has been viewed over 7 million times on YouTube, wrote  ‘If I were Enlightened’ many years ago, at a time when her Texan upbringing was being shaken with a good dose of California New Age spirituality.

Donnalou performed ‘Older Ladies’ live during SAND14 and showed the audience the first draft of this parody of spiritual seeking.
