Some of you may have received an email recently inviting you to send in your response to the question: What is the Meaning of Life?
It’s not a scam, or even spam. The email comes in the form of a politely-written and personally-addressed letter, and is signed by an individual from a site called Excellence Reporter.
There is no fanfare or promise of reward, and the letter’s very simplicity and transparency must be one reason the site has posted more than a thousand replies in the last few months. They make compelling reading, especially as they are accompanied by striking photos of the contributors.
The email request is described as an interview to elicit your wit on the meaning of life, and to let it shine meaningfulness into human lives.
The responders are divided into about 70 categories – themselves a fascinating glimpse of contemporary society, including Ayurveda, Economics, Fashion, Neuroscience, Sufism and Yoga. And there’s a complete alphabetical list of all the interviewees. You’ll probably find some friends and acquaintances there.
The site makes good claim to call itself the #1 Most ‘Meaning Full’ Website on Earth.
But will you find the meaning of life? Check it out. In the new climate of the democratization of spirituality, the true answer seems only to be found in a thousand personal answers.
