Robert Burton is a physician, novelist, nonfiction author and columnist. His books include three critically acclaimed novels, and his nonfiction books include On Being Certain: Believing You Are Right Even When You’re Not. His essays have appeared in The New York Times, Salon, Aeon, and Nautilus. He is Associate Chief of the Department of Neurosciences at UCSF Medical Center at Mt. Zion.
