A Community Gathering with Matthew Fox
“The system is not working. That is how a paradigm shift begins: the established way of seeing the world no longer functions.”
― Matthew Fox
A lot is happening in our world as the pandemic spreads across our lives on a planetary scale. As we are cocooning in our homes, we would like to invite you to join us for a community get-together every Saturday at 10 AM PDT, where we can connect, reflect, meditate, nourish one another with our presence and create a field of resilience and mutual support. Each week we will have a different guest teacher who will bring their perspective and wisdom on the situation and help us connect and ground as a community. Let’s remember that every crisis holds the seeds of birthing of new perspectives and new ways of being.
This coming Saturday we are delighted to have Rev. Matthew Fox as a guest teacher.Rev. Matthew Fox is an author, theologian, and activist priest. He has ignited an international movement which awakens people to be mystics, prophets and contemplative activists who honor and defend the earth and work for justice. He seeks to establish a new pedagogy for learning a grounded spirituality in an effort to reawaken the West to its own mystical traditions in such figures as Hildegard of Bingen, Meister Eckhart and the mysticism of Thomas Aquinas. In this community gathering, Mathew Fox will be sharing some of the wisdom for hard times from the Christian contemplative mystics, and we will have time for a conversation with him.
Rev. Matthew Fox, PhD, author, theologian, and activist priest, has been calling people of spirit and conscience into the Creation Spirituality lineage for over 50 years. His 37 books, lectures, retreats, and innovative education models have ignited an international movement to awaken people to be mystics and prophets, contemplative activists, who honor and defend the earth and work for justice. Seeking to establish a new pedagogy for learning spirituality that was grounded in an effort to reawaken the West to its own mystical traditions in such figures as Hildegard of Bingen, Meister Eckhart and the mysticism of Thomas Aquinas, as well as interacting with contemporary scientists who are also mystics, Fox founded the University of Creation Spirituality. His recent projects include Order of the Sacred Earth, Daily Meditations with Matthew Fox, and a Certificate Program in Leadership and the Creation Spirituality Tradition.
